Machine Tool Orders Decline in September

Machine tool orders fell slightly in September on a monthly basis, AMT—The Association for Manufacturing Technology said in a monthly report. Typically, orders increase in September from August. The year-over-year comparison was tougher because the year-earlier figure was boosted by last year's IMTS event in Chicago. AMT said the automotive and aerospace sectors were bright spots in September. For the first 10 months of 2019, orders declined 18 percent from the same period last year.

U.S. on Verge of New Status as a Net Energy Exporter


The United States is about to begin a new era as a net energy exporter, according to U.S. Energy Department projections. The change will occur in 2020, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) Annual Energy Outlook 2019 (AEO2019), released in January 2019. That will snap a 67-year streak of the U.S. being a net energy importer, going back to 1953. The nation is expected to retain its new status for decades.

National Association of Manufacturers Hit by Suspected Chinese Hackers, CNBC Reports
