Boeing Posts Record Annual Loss

Boeing Co. reported a record annual loss of almost $12 billion in 2020 as it dealt with the 737 Max crisis and a slump in demand for air travel. Most of the deficit ($8.44 billion) took place in the fourth quarter. The 737 Max was grounded for most of 2020 before U.S. regulators approved the aircraft returning to the air. Delieveries of commercial aircraft slid amid an industry slump caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
