Honda Adopts Virtual Training

Honda Motor Co. has started production of the 2022 Acura MDX. The company is using virtual reality, in combination with traditional training, to get output up to speed. The virtual training program, using Vizendo software, helps production workers at Honda's East Liberty plant in Ohio familarize themselves with tasks. “We saw an opportunity to engage our associates better,” said Joey Sippel, a training director for the Acura MDX project. “We wanted to give them a new tool.”

Boeing Deliveries Fall to Lowest Level in Almost a Half Century


Boeing Co. aircraft deliveries in 2020 slid to the lowest level is almost 50 years, The Seattle Times said. Boeing delivered 157 jets, down from 380 in 2019 and a record 806 in 2018. The Chicago-based company felt the impact of the grounding of the 737 Max and issues with the 787 Dreamliner. U.S. regulators late in 2020 approved the return of the 737 Max to the air.

Ford Motor Co. said it will close three manufacturing operations in Brazil, according to Reuters. The U.S.-based automaker will absorb pretax charges of about $4.1 billion. Two of the three plants shut down immediately. A third will operate until the fourth quarter of this year.
