Laser automation systems drive much more than significantly increased output; they also drive the push towards digitization of the factory, the advent of Industry 4.0. These new systems have the ability to bring the Laser on-line and report new data streams not previously available. Cloud systems allow for remote monitoring and automation systems can be scheduled to run long, unattended production runs. These production runs can report material stock back to suppliers, which in turn support JIT manufacturing, reducing cost consuming stock. Automation is the backbone of industry 4.0.
