Design for manufacturability (DFM), at its simplest, is the art of designing products in such a way that they are easy to manufacture. The effects of a well-implemented DFM process can be seen in overall productivity, improved quality, reduction of scrap and manufacturing downtime, and a mechanism for continuous product improvement.
NX addresses the Design for Manufacturability challenge through a variety of integrated methods and add-ons - from CAD solutions that aid in the recognition of manufacturing problems early on in the design phase, to knowledge capture and reuse strategies allowing for design standardization to company best practices or industry regulations.
Let’s explore the DFM capabilities found within NX.
